Talmage, NE – Two Men Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on Hwy 67
Talmage, NE (May 15, 2026) – A single-vehicle rollover crash seriously injured two Lincoln men on Wednesday night, May 13, near Talmage in Otoe County. The accident happened just after 11:00 p.m. on Highway 67 north of County Road R.
A 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling south on Highway 67 when it left the road, struck a utility pole, and rolled several times. Emergency units arrived to find 41-year-old Anthony Collins of Lincoln pinned inside the pickup. Responders worked to extricate Collins from the vehicle before transporting him to a Lincoln hospital in serious condition.
As investigators worked the scene, they discovered that 44-year-old Brent Schleicher of Lincoln had been ejected from the pickup during the crash. Emergency units airlifted Schleicher from the scene to a Lincoln hospital, also in serious condition. Both men remain hospitalized as of this report.
The crash remains under investigation by the The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Our thoughts are with Anthony Collins and Brent Schleicher and their families as they continue to recover.
How to Preserve Evidence After a Crash in Nebraska
Preserving evidence after a car accident in Nebraska starts at the scene and the steps taken in the first hours after a crash can significantly affect any legal or insurance claim that follows. In a rollover crash, physical evidence disappears quickly. Skid marks fade, debris gets cleared, and vehicle damage changes once repairs begin. Acting fast to document and secure that evidence helps protect your options later.
If you are physically able to do so after a crash, photograph everything. Take pictures of all vehicles involved, their positions on the road, any damage, road conditions, and nearby landmarks or signage along the highway. On rural roads like Highway 67 in Nebraska, where traffic cameras and witnesses may be scarce, photos and videos taken at the scene often become the most important pieces of evidence available.
Official records matter just as much as personal documentation. The police report, emergency responder records, and hospital admission records all help establish a clear timeline of what happened and what injuries resulted. Request copies of these documents early. In Nebraska, crash reports are typically available through the investigating agency shortly after the incident closes.
Vehicle data can also play a critical role. Many modern vehicles store event data recorder information that captures speed, braking, and steering inputs before a crash. This data can be lost or overwritten if a vehicle is repaired or destroyed before it is retrieved. A car accident attorney can help secure a legal hold on this information before it disappears.
