Lincoln, NE (June 23, 2026) – A 23-year-old motorcyclist was injured on Monday afternoon, June 22, after a collision at 62nd Street and Normal Boulevard in Lincoln.
Emergency responders arrived around 12:15 p.m. and found a motorcycle lying in the roadway. Officials said the rider was traveling west on Normal Boulevard when he struck the driver’s side of a Toyota. The Toyota had stopped at 62nd Street before proceeding south through the intersection.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver and passenger in the Toyota suffered minor injuries. Authorities said there was no evidence that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The

We wish everyone involved a complete and steady recovery.
What Challenges Do Motorcyclists Face After a Crash in Lincoln?
After a motorcycle accident in Lincoln, riders may face medical bills, lost wages, pain, and insurance concerns. Even injuries that seem minor can require follow-up visits, therapy, and time away from routines.
On roads like Normal Boulevard, riders face higher risks, especially near busy intersections such as 70th Street, O Street, and South Street. Drivers may misjudge a motorcycle’s speed or fail to see a rider before entering traffic. These moments can leave motorcyclists with little time to react.
When you leave the hospital, be sure to keep your medical records. These records include your diagnoses, treatments, and how your symptoms change over time. They can help show just how much the crash has affected your daily life.
After the initial shock, new symptoms or pain can appear. Issues like neck pain, headaches, or bruising might show up later. A clear treatment plan helps link these symptoms to the accident.
Before you contact your insurer, it helps to understand how Nebraska’s fault laws could affect your claim. Details about speed, lane position, visibility, and right of way can make a major difference.
Because riders can sometimes be blamed unfairly, strong evidence matters. Photos, witness statements, medical records, and repair estimates can help show what happened. A
motorcycle accident attorney can review these materials, protect your claim, and explain your options clearly.
