How Passenger Claims Work After a Motorcycle Crash in Omaha, NE
A motorcycle passenger injured when the bike goes down typically has an easier path to compensation than the driver, since passengers usually aren't the one accused of causing the crash.
Passengers usually absorb similar injuries to the operator, including road rash, fractures, or head trauma, but without the same defenses available to a driver who might be partially blamed for the crash. Because passengers usually didn't control the motorcycle, their claims tend to focus more on the driver's insurance and any other vehicle potentially involved.
If the motorcycle operator's own error contributed to the crash, the injured passenger can generally still pursue a claim against that driver's policy, separate from any claim tied to another vehicle. An Omaha motorcycle accident lawyer can help passengers sort out which insurance policies apply.
Being hurt as a passenger in a crash can leave someone unsure of where to even start. At Harris & Associates, we can help passengers understand how a claim works under Nebraska law.
