Man Hurt in Fall From Roof at Construction Site near Taz Ln in Murray, NE

James Harris • June 26, 2026

Murray, NE (June 26, 2026) – A 45-year-old man was injured after falling at least 10 feet from the roof of a house under construction near Taz Lane and Koby Circle on Wednesday, June 24.

The man was working on the roof of the new construction site when he fell and struck his head, according to Murray Fire & Rescue. He was alert and conscious at the scene, though he later experienced a loss of consciousness.

Emergency units, including a medical helicopter, responded to the area beginning around 2:47 p.m. The man was found with left shoulder and femur pain, right shoulder pain, abrasions, and bruising over the left abdomen, with some visible deformities to his left leg.

His left lower extremity was splinted before he was flown to a University of Nebraska Medical Center for further treatment. His vital signs were reported as stable during transport.

No further details about the fall had been made public as of this report.

This accident remains under active review.

We wish the injured man a full recovery.

Who Can Be Held Responsible for a Construction Site Fall in Murray, NE?

Falls from roofs and elevated work areas are among the most common causes of serious injury on construction sites, and responsibility can extend beyond just the worker's own employer.

A fall from 10 feet or more can result in traumatic brain injury, fractures, and internal injuries, all of which can require lengthy hospital stays and extended recovery time. Loss of consciousness can be a sign of a more serious head injury that may not be fully understood until further imaging and monitoring are completed.

Depending on who controlled the worksite, a general contractor, property developer, or equipment supplier could share responsibility if proper fall protection, like guardrails or harnesses, wasn't provided or enforced.

Nebraska's workers' compensation system generally covers on-the-job injuries regardless of fault, but a personal injury attorney can help determine whether a third party outside the direct employer relationship, such as a subcontractor, may also bear liability.

If you are unsure of what to do next after an accident in Nebraska, we can help you. At Harris & Associates, we can evaluate the specific details of your case and walk you through the legal paths that may be open for you.

Omaha, NE (August 11, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle near a gas station in Omaha on Tuesday morning, August 11. The collision occurred at approximately 2:19 a.m. near South 24th Street and I Street. Emergency units were called to assist the injured pedestrian. Initial reports indicated that the person may have had a serious arm or leg injury, although further details have not yet been released. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. We hope the injured pedestrian makes a full and steady recovery. What Evidence Should I Collect After a Car Accident in Omaha, NE? After a car accident in Omaha, you should collect photographs, medical records, the crash report, witness contact information, video footage, repair estimates, bills, and insurance documents. Together, this evidence can help establish fault and document the losses caused by the crash. Beyond collecting those materials, pay attention to where they came from and when they were created. Information produced close to the time of the collision may help clarify disputed details if the parties later give different accounts of what happened. On Omaha streets, fault may depend on traffic signals, right-of-way rules, turning movements, or a driver’s attention before the collision. The specific circumstances matter because responsibility is determined from each person’s conduct rather than the injury alone. Under Nebraska’s comparative negligence law, an injured person’s share of responsibility can reduce recoverable damages. If the claimant’s negligence equals or exceeds the combined negligence of the parties being sued, recovery is barred under the statute. From an insurance standpoint, Nebraska requires minimum liability limits of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $25,000 for property damage. Higher policy limits may be available depending on the coverage purchased by the driver. If the responsible driver lacks sufficient coverage, uninsured or underinsured motorist protection may become important. Nebraska requires qualifying automobile liability policies to include these protections, subject to statutory requirements and the terms and limits of the individual policy. For a disputed or serious claim, an Omaha car accident lawyer can evaluate fault, available coverage, and the losses that may be recoverable. An attorney can also explain how Nebraska law may affect the claim before important decisions are made. At Harris & Associates, we help people across Nebraska after serious motor vehicle accidents. Our team can review what happened, answer your questions, and explain the legal options that may be available based on your circumstances. If you were injured in a car accident in Omaha, call Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202 to speak with our team. We can discuss your case and help you understand what steps you should take next. Omaha, NE (August 10, 2026) – A woman in her 20s went to a hospital on Monday morning, August 10, following a two-vehicle collision near 102nd St and Nicholas St. Emergency units responded to the scene around 11:25 a.m. to find one vehicle overturned. Responders evaluated a female patient for hip pain before transporting her under trauma protocols to Bergan Mercy Hospital for further care. Local authorities are continuing to look into the factors that led to the crash. Our thoughts are with the injured woman as she works toward recovery. What Steps Should You Take Immediately Following a Traffic Crash in Omaha, NE? After a traffic crash in Omaha, NE, the first steps should focus on safety, medical care, documentation, and exchanging required information. If it is safe to do so, those involved should move away from immediate traffic hazards, seek medical evaluation for any injuries, and report the crash. Drivers should exchange insurance and contact information, while witnesses should be identified when possible. Photos of the vehicles, roadway, visible injuries, and property damage can also preserve useful information. Once immediate safety concerns are addressed, obtaining an official police collision report and keeping medical records can provide important documentation. Some injuries may not become fully apparent until hours or days later, so follow-up care should not be overlooked. Records of emergency treatment, diagnostic testing, prescriptions, physical therapy, and other medical services can help document the nature and cost of treatment. In addition to medical documentation, keeping track of other crash-related expenses can help show the financial effects of an injury. Records of missed work, transportation costs, vehicle repairs, towing, and communications with insurance companies may become relevant during the claims process. Those involved should also avoid making assumptions about fault or providing statements that speculate about how the crash occurred before all available information has been reviewed. As these records are gathered, dealing with insurance requirements while recovering can become difficult. An attorney can review medical documentation, crash reports, photographs, witness information, and applicable insurance policies. Legal guidance may also assist with communicating with insurance adjusters, preserving evidence, and explaining what options may be available under Nebraska law. At Harris & Associates, we can help people in Nebraska review the information available after a traffic crash and explain what steps may come next. Our Omaha car accident lawyer can discuss insurance issues, documentation, and potential legal options based on the circumstances of the collision. For questions about your vehicle accident, you can reach Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202. Note: This post is based on information obtained from publicly available secondary sources. Omaha, NE (August 10, 2026) – One person was taken to a hospital after a crash on Omaha's North Fwy on Sunday afternoon, August 9. The person was rescued from a vehicle before being taken to the hospital. The initial report did not provide the person's name or describe the severity of the injuries sustained. Authorities continue to investigate the crash. We hope the hospitalized person makes a steady recovery. What Insurance Options May Apply After a Crash in Omaha, NE? Several insurance options may apply after a crash in Omaha, NE, depending on who was responsible, the policies involved, and the circumstances of the injuries. Liability insurance may cover losses when another driver caused the crash. Uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage may also apply when the responsible driver has no insurance or insufficient coverage. Other available benefits may help address medical expenses or related losses, depending on the applicable policy terms. When a person is hospitalized after being rescued from a vehicle, medical expenses can quickly become a significant concern. Emergency treatment, diagnostic testing, follow-up appointments, medication, rehabilitation, and other care may create ongoing costs. If injuries prevent someone from working, lost income may add to the financial effects. Keeping medical bills, treatment records, wage information, and other related documents can help establish these losses. With those expenses documented, reviewing the available insurance policies can help clarify where a potential claim may be directed. Policy limits, exclusions, coverage requirements, and the number of people involved can affect how an insurance claim is handled. Keeping copies of correspondence with insurance companies and any claim-related documents may also be useful throughout the process. A lawyer can examine the available policies, medical records, crash documentation, and other evidence. Depending on the circumstances, this may include reviewing liability coverage, uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, or other applicable benefits. Legal guidance can also help explain claim procedures, policy limits, and the information an insurance company may request. At Harris & Associates, we work with people who are sorting through insurance and legal questions after serious crashes in Nebraska. We can review the available information, explain how the applicable coverage may work, and discuss the options that may be available based on the circumstances. If you or someone you care about was hurt in a collision, you can reach Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202 to discuss your situation with our Omaha car accident lawyer and learn more about the insurance and legal options that may apply. Grand Island, NE (August 9, 2026) – A collision left at least one person hurt near Sixth Street and North Locust Street in Grand Island on Sunday, August 9. The accident occurred around 12:55 a.m. Emergency units arrived shortly after the crash was reported and assisted those involved. Further information about the injuries has not yet been released. Authorities continue to investigate what led to the wreck. We hope everyone hurt in the crash receives the care and support needed for a full recovery. Why Does Medical Documentation Matter After a Car Accident in Grand Island, NE? Medical documentation matters after a car accident in Grand Island because it creates a dated record of your injuries, symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment. These records can help connect the medical care you received to the collision and show why treatment was necessary. As your treatment continues, medical records can show whether your symptoms improved, remained unchanged, or became more serious. This history may explain why follow-up appointments, testing, therapy, medication, or referrals became necessary during your recovery. Throughout Grand Island, injured people may receive care from several medical providers after a serious crash. Records from each provider can create a clearer history of the care received and how an injury developed over time. In the weeks that follow, missed appointments or lengthy treatment gaps may raise questions about your recovery. Medical notes can sometimes explain scheduling problems, referrals, or other reasons care was delayed without requiring you to rely only on your memory. As your recovery moves forward, your medical documentation may also identify treatment you could need later. Recommendations from doctors or specialists can provide information about additional therapy, procedures, follow-up visits, or other care that may become necessary. Beyond your treatment records, keeping a personal record of physical limitations can provide additional context about your recovery. Notes about difficulty working, driving, sleeping, or completing routine activities may help explain how your injuries affected everyday life. During the claims process, a car accident lawyer can review your medical records alongside other evidence connected to the claim. An attorney can also explain how treatment documentation may be considered when injury-related losses are evaluated. Our team at Harris & Associates helps injured people throughout Nebraska understand their options after motor vehicle crashes. We review your case carefully, answer your questions, and explain the steps that may be available. If you were injured in a crash in Grand Island, you can reach out to Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202. A consultation with our team can help you understand your options and move forward. Omaha, NE (August 9, 2026) – Four vehicles were involved in a crash on the westbound Interstate 80 exit ramp at 60th Street in Omaha on Friday, August 7. The collision was reported at approximately 3:59 p.m. Emergency units were sent to the ramp and assisted those injured. Details about the extent of those injuries have not yet been released. The westbound exit ramp was blocked while crews worked. Authorities continue to investigate what caused the collision. We hope everyone involved receives the care and support they need. How Do Insurance Companies Handle Multi-Car Accident Claims in Omaha, NE? After a multi-car accident in Omaha, insurance companies generally investigate each driver’s actions before deciding who may be responsible. Several insurers may become involved in the same claim. Each company reviews liability under the terms of its policy. Because responsibility may be divided among several drivers, insurance companies can reach different conclusions about fault. One insurer may accept partial responsibility while another disputes its driver’s involvement. These disagreements can make resolving a multi-car claim more difficult. Around Omaha, I-80 carries heavy traffic through major interchanges, including the 60th Street exit. A collision involving several vehicles can create separate claims arising from the same wreck. Each driver’s role may therefore need to be considered individually. Under Nebraska’s comparative negligence rule, your share of fault can affect the amount you may recover. Any damages awarded may be reduced according to your percentage of responsibility. Recovery may be barred if your fault reaches the level set by state law. At the same time, insurance policy limits can become important when several injured people make claims against the same driver. Available coverage may need to be divided among multiple claims. In some cases, those limits may be lower than the total losses involved. If insurers disagree about fault or available coverage, an Omaha car accident lawyer can review how the claims overlap. An attorney can also examine applicable insurance policies and Nebraska liability rules. This may help clarify which insurers could be responsible. At Harris & Associates, we help people injured in Nebraska multi-vehicle crashes understand how insurance coverage and state law may affect their claims. Our team reviews disputed liability, available policies, and other issues that can arise when several vehicles are involved. If you have questions about your legal options after a multi-car accident in Omaha, contact Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202. We can review your situation, explain the issues involved, and help you consider your next step. Note: This post is based on information obtained from publicly available secondary sources. Omaha, NE (August 9, 2026) – A woman was hurt in a two-car wreck near South 21st Street and Bancroft Street in Omaha on Saturday, August 8. The collision was reported at approximately 9:28 p.m. Emergency crews arrived shortly after the crash and provided medical care to the woman. She reportedly declined transportation to a hospital. Further information about her injuries has not yet been released. Authorities continue to investigate what caused the crash. Our thoughts are with everyone involved, and we hope the injured woman makes a full recovery. How Do I Report a Car Accident in Omaha, NE? You can report a car accident in Omaha by calling 911 if someone is injured or immediate assistance is needed. For crashes without an emergency, you can contact the Omaha Police Department through its non-emergency reporting options. Be prepared to provide accurate details about the collision. After making the report, remain nearby when it is safe and required. Exchange identifying and insurance information with the other driver. Cooperate with officers who arrive to document what happened. Around Omaha, clear location details can help emergency crews find the crash quickly. Give the nearest intersection, street address, or recognizable landmark. This information can make it easier for responders to reach the correct place. Once the report is available, request a copy for your records. It can provide a useful summary of the crash and may be needed when dealing with insurers, repair providers, or other parties involved in the claim. Under Nebraska law, some crashes require a written report within 10 days. This applies to crashes involving injury, death, or at least $2,000 in property damage to one person. A separate driver report is generally not required when law enforcement investigates the crash. Beyond police reporting, notify your automobile insurer as required by your policy. Give accurate information about what happened without guessing about responsibility. Insurance reporting requirements can be separate from duties imposed by Nebraska law. If questions arise, an Omaha car accident lawyer can explain which reporting rules apply. An attorney can also review insurance issues, available evidence, and important deadlines. Legal guidance may help when injuries or responsibility for the crash are disputed. At Harris & Associates, we help injured people throughout Nebraska after serious crashes. Our team provides guidance based on the circumstances surrounding your case. If you were injured in an Omaha car accident, call Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202 to discuss your situation. Omaha, NE (August 8, 2026) – Two children and an adult woman requested medical evaluation after two vehicles collided in an alley near South 27th Street in Omaha on Friday evening, August 7. The wreck occurred around 7:23 p.m. Emergency units arrived shortly after the crash was reported. Crews evaluated the two children and the woman following the collision. The extent of any injuries has not yet been confirmed. The Omaha Police Department continues to investigate what led to the collision. We hope the two children and the woman involved receive the care they need and make a full recovery. Can I File a Claim If My Child Was Injured in a Car Accident in Omaha, NE? Yes, you may be able to file a claim if your child was injured in an Omaha car accident caused by another driver. A claim may help cover medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and other losses related to the injury. After the crash, make sure your child receives appropriate medical care and follows treatment recommendations. Follow-up appointments can help doctors monitor recovery and identify problems that may not have been clear immediately after the collision. Across Omaha, families travel roads such as South 27th Street, L Street, Center Street, and Leavenworth Street. Crashes can also occur on residential streets, parking areas, and alleys, and investigators may review driver actions and roadway evidence to determine what happened. As your child recovers, keep medical bills, discharge instructions, prescription receipts, photographs, and other records connected to the injury. Notes about missed school, reduced activities, or changes in daily routines can also help document how the crash affected your child. During an insurance claim, the insurer may review photographs, witness statements, medical records, and vehicle damage. Disputes may arise over fault or injury severity. Avoid accepting a settlement before you understand your child’s treatment needs and recovery. If questions arise about fault, insurance coverage, or your child’s rights, an Omaha car accident lawyer can review the available evidence and explain possible options. An attorney can also handle insurer communications and organize supporting records. At Harris & Associates, we help Omaha families understand their options after car accidents involving injured children. Our team reviews available evidence, explains the claims process clearly, and helps families make informed decisions about what comes next. If your child was injured in a car accident in Omaha, contact Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202 to discuss your situation. Omaha, NE (August 8, 2026) – At least one person was hurt in a multi-vehicle wreck near South 72nd Street and Jones Circle in Omaha on Friday, August 7. The collision was reported at about 9:01 a.m. Initial reports indicated that a black Chevrolet SUV left the roadway and came to rest on an embankment. A black sports car and a black Dodge Charger were also reportedly involved in the crash. A red Corvette was identified as a suspected hit-and-run vehicle and was last seen traveling northbound. Emergency units assisted those involved following the accident. Authorities have not yet confirmed the extent of any injuries. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Our thoughts are with everyone injured, and we hope they make a full and speedy recovery. Can I Recover Compensation After a Hit-and-Run Crash in Omaha, NE? Yes, you may be able to recover compensation after a hit-and-run crash in Omaha even if the other driver is not immediately identified. Your options will depend on the circumstances of the collision and the insurance coverage available to you. In the days after the crash, report the collision to your insurance company and keep records of your medical treatment and related expenses. Photographs, witness information, vehicle damage, and available surveillance or traffic-camera footage may also help document what happened. Across Omaha, South 72nd Street connects drivers with major routes such as Dodge Street, Pacific Street, and Interstate 80. Traffic along these busy corridors can make crashes more complicated, especially when several vehicles are involved, or one driver leaves before investigators arrive. If the driver cannot be identified, uninsured motorist coverage may help pay for qualifying injuries in some hit-and-run cases. The coverage available will depend on your policy, the facts of the crash, and whether the claim meets Nebraska insurance requirements. During the claims process, an Omaha car accident lawyer can review the available evidence and insurance policies to explain which sources of coverage may apply. An attorney can also communicate with insurers and help protect your claim while you focus on recovery. At Harris & Associates, we help injured people across Nebraska understand their options after serious motor vehicle crashes. Our team can review the circumstances of a hit-and-run collision and provide guidance based on your situation. If you were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Omaha, call Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202 to discuss your situation. Omaha, NE (August 8, 2026) – Three vehicles collided at 42nd Street and Ames Avenue in Omaha on Friday night, August 7. The wreck occurred at approximately 10:32 p.m. and involved a blue Subaru Forester, a gray Ford Focus, and a white Buick SUV. Emergency units were sent to the intersection shortly after the collision was reported. Medical assistance was needed, and officials indicated that one driver may not have had insurance. Further information about the extension of injuries has not been released yet. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. We hope everyone involved in the crash is safe and doing well. What Happens If the Other Driver Was Uninsured After a Crash in Omaha, NE? If the other driver was uninsured after an Omaha crash, you may still have options for covering certain injury-related losses. Your own uninsured motorist coverage may apply when another driver is responsible for the collision but does not have liability insurance. Under Nebraska insurance requirements, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage can help with bodily injury losses when the at-fault driver has no insurance or insufficient coverage. Depending on the policy, this may include medical expenses, lost wages, and other qualifying costs. Across Omaha, drivers regularly travel busy roads such as Ames Avenue, 42nd Street, North 30th Street, Fontenelle Boulevard, and Sorensen Parkway. In multi-vehicle intersection crashes, determining fault and which insurance coverage applies can become more complicated. After the crash, keep your medical records, bills, photographs, repair estimates, insurance letters, and available crash documentation together. These records can help show when your losses occurred, what treatment or repairs were needed, and how the collision affected you. As the insurance process continues, review your policy and notify your insurer about the crash as soon as reasonably possible. An uninsured driver does not automatically mean there is no available coverage, but the options will depend on the facts of the crash and the terms of your policy. If questions about coverage or fault become difficult, an Omaha car accident lawyer can review the available insurance and explain the options that may apply. An attorney can also help organize records, communicate with insurers, and address disputes that arise during the claims process. Our team at Harris & Associates helps injured people throughout Nebraska understand their options after motor vehicle crashes. We review the available facts, explain the claims process clearly, and help you determine what steps may be appropriate for your circumstances. If you were injured in an Omaha crash involving an uninsured driver, call Harris & Associates at (402) 397-1202. We can discuss what happened, answer your questions, and explain the options that may be available to you. Note: This post is based on information obtained from publicly available secondary sources. What Should Drivers Do After a Crash on Hwy 281 in Grand Island, NE? After any injury crash, Nebraska law requires drivers to remain at the scene, exchange information, and report the crash if it resulted in injury or significant property damage. Injuries from a two-vehicle crash can range from minor soft-tissue strains to more serious harm like fractures or concussions, and some symptoms don't fully surface until hours or even days later. Therefore, to seek prompt medical evaluation matters not just for health reasons, but because a documented gap between the crash and a diagnosis can later complicate an insurance claim. Nebraska follows a modified comparative negligence rule, in which an injured driver can still recover damages as long as they're found 50% or less at fault, with the award reduced by their share of responsibility. In these cases, a car accident lawyer can help crash victims gather police reports and witness statements early, since evidence at a busy intersection like this one can be harder to piece together the longer a case sits unaddressed. Questions usually come up in the days after a crash, especially about who's responsible and what happens next.
