Why Are Rollover Crashes So Dangerous in Lincoln, NE?
Rollover crashes in Lincoln are dangerous because a vehicle may turn onto its side or roof, exposing occupants to sudden forces from several directions. The abrupt movement can leave little time to brace or maintain a safe position.
When a vehicle rolls, occupants may strike the roof, doors, windows, seats, or other parts of the passenger compartment. These forces can lead to head, neck, back, chest, and limb injuries.
Because a rollover can damage the roof, doors, or windows, the space around occupants may change suddenly. Damaged doors or restraints can also make it harder to get out or for emergency personnel to safely reach someone inside.
After a rollover, some injuries may not be immediately apparent. Seeking medical attention and following recommended care can help identify problems that develop after the initial shock of the crash.
If another driver caused the collision, liability insurance may cover medical care, missed income, vehicle damage, and other losses. More than one policy may apply, depending on the vehicles involved and the available coverage.
Even if you share some fault, Nebraska law may allow you to pursue compensation when you are less than 50 percent responsible. Any payment may be reduced by the percentage of fault assigned to you.
After a crash like this, keeping up with medical bills and insurance calls can be difficult. A
car accident lawyer can handle communications with the insurance company while you focus on your recovery.
