Passenger Airlifted After Wreck on Hwy 75 in Nebraska City, NE
Nebraska City, NE (June 2, 2026) – A semi truck struck the rear of a car at Highway 75 and H Road in Nebraska City on Tuesday morning, June 2, at approximately 11:55 a.m. The impact injured a woman in her mid-20s who was riding as a passenger in the car.
Responders found the woman going in and out of consciousness at the scene. She reported neck, chest, and back pain after the accident. The airbags in the vehicle had deployed during the crash.
Emergency units requested a helicopter, which airlifted the woman to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. Authorities confirmed she had been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The initial report did not confirm any additional injuries from the wreck. The
Otoe County Sheriff’s Office continues working to determine what led to the crash.
We hope the woman makes a full and steady recovery.
Can a Passenger File a Claim After a Truck Crash in Nebraska City, NE?
Yes, a passenger can usually file a claim after a truck crash in Nebraska City. Passengers rarely share fault for a collision, which often gives them a strong basis to pursue compensation. This may apply no matter which driver caused the wreck.
In many truck accident cases, the semi driver, the trucking company, or both may share liability. Compensation may cover medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages tied to the crash.
Along Highway 75 and Highway 2, Nebraska City sees steady commercial truck traffic moving through Otoe County each day. Large semis sharing the road with smaller passenger vehicles can increase the severity of rear-end collisions.
Because truck crashes frequently lead to serious injuries, keeping medical records organized early can strengthen a claim. Imaging results, hospital records, treatment plans, and therapy notes can all help document the extent of the injuries connected to the collision.
Under Nebraska law, injured victims generally have four years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury lawsuit. Missing that deadline may prevent an injured person from pursuing compensation through the courts.
A
truck accident lawyer can review crash reports, gather evidence, and handle communication with trucking companies and insurance carriers. Legal guidance may also help protect a passenger’s right to pursue compensation after a serious semi-truck collision.
